Transactional Intellectual Property Services

Both upon initial retention and periodically thereafter, we perform a detailed review of products, product lines, software, web sites, sales literature, labels and artwork for intellectual property protection. Together with the client, priorities are then established so as to maximize the client's protection for its intellectual property assets. This process is valuable not only to start-up and technology companies but also beneficial to established brick and mortar corporations which are not always fully aware of their intellectual property assets.

For many clients, we take on the responsibility for complete management of trademark, copyright and patent portfolios. Our duties are the equivalent of an in-house IP department. We organize existing IP properties, aid in making long-term planning for future acquisition, adjust portfolios for economic reality, and do cost benefit analyses.

We also advise clients with regard to the use and abuse of domain names, metatags, hyperlinks, customer information and software in general. We conduct acquisition, maintenance and conflict domain name reviews for our clients. We protect domain names against cybersquatters. See Intellectual Property Litigation above.

centralize policing and enforcement of the client's intellectual property portfolio;

provide due diligence services both in the U.S. and worldwide in relation to acquisitions, mergers, private placements, public offerings and the acquisition of intellectual property in general;
perfect transfer & ownership documentation;
confirm ownership of patents, trademarks and copyrights;
to register security interests and/or their reversion.
